An Experience of a Lifetime!

If you have ever wanted to know what it feels like to lose all thoughts, feelings and your breath at once.  Then driving a dragster is for you! Former Top Fuel champion Doug Foley will teach you all the basics from learning the car, how to enter the track, burnouts and how to launch. He equips you with top of the line racing suits and helmets. A classroom is followed before getting in the dragster to make sure you're very aware of what you're about to do. You will learn how to understand the Christmas tree, ft. markers and more! Although his cars are all foot brake to make it easier to learn, don't stress the learning of a trans brake. Start small and don't rush yourself. Enjoy the ride while it last! There are 6 different classes including the dragster ride along where you get to ride beside the driver as an eye opener of what it's like, the dragster drive adventure where you are in full control with Doug talking to you through a head set, Camaro match where you race another SS Camaro, the licensing program if you choose to further your liking! All cars are Super Comp/ Top E.T Dragsters, Jr. dragsters for the young ones wanting to get the feel and start their career as a worldwide speed champion and the bring your own car!. I actually received my NHRA licence to drive Super comp's through this school and I highly recommend it! He is very patient, and will not let you go out until you are comfortable enough to do so. Is it scary at first? Of course. But your first pass will make you want to do it again. The closest track is the ZMAXX four wide track where you will be taught and let go on your own. Pay attention, swallow your fear, get in and GO on GREEN! Hold your foot to the floor and don't let go until you pass that 1320 line or so 1300. Below i have posted both experiences. One from Roy Hill's school and Doug Foley's where i got licensed(sorry for the horrible quality). purespeedracing.com Doug Foley 1-800-485-4746 Located in Mooresville N.C. Angela Roddy super comp dragster

On May 22,2015 was the day that I received my NHRA super competition license at Zmax dragway in Concord, North Carolina. I have to say, it was the experience of a lifetime and a day that I will never forget. If it wasn't for the first time experience in this video, I probably wouldn't of received my license. I may not of gotten the first time or done my best but it gave me the knowledge I needed. The feeling of being in that dragster took my breath away in the best way possible.

A Day at the Drags

Unlike any other sporting event that last maybe 2-4 hours, drag racing is an all day event. The drivers prepare by waking up at 5 or 6am and loading up the trailers with all their racing equipment and not to forget, their car. A shower or breakfast or what's on Facebook is never a thought that crosses their mind. A prayer and pep talk is though. As the crew meets up at the track before 7am, they go ahead and make sure everything is running alright with the car(s). It may take from a simple tune up to putting a whole new engine in before eliminations or qualifying. As they dial their cars in after inspection, these drivers are under more stress than anyone! But don't think for a minute that they want to back out and leave. In this sport, the drivers are die hard passionate about what they do. Drag racing is the most competitive sport watched by millions. As they spectators began to come in the gates and take their seats, drivers are all suited up and ready to launch and bang that green light with a .007 reaction time! As the fans are cheering on their favorite team or driver they want to please all their fans expectations by winning but of course they won't always be able to so they have to try their hardest which is more than fine to us fans. A trip to the track is an escape from reality even stress to a lot of people. It's a way of happiness and to some as a hobby. Sure you can turn to ESPN and watch it but nothing compares to actually being there and feeling the rumbling of the stands as you slowly begin to become deaf for a few hours. In the end it's all worth it. Once you get that first whiff of nitrious oxide, you will be a regular. Drag racing is something that if your in it, it's in your blood not by choice. People come out from all over the world just to see even one driver perform at their best and pay the price that some people don't even make in a weeks paycheck depending if it's a national event or not
